# Search and filter devices

POST https://example.itential.io/configuration_manager/devices/search
Content-Type: application/json

Returns a paginated list of devices from the device status collection with support for free-text search, filtering by group, plan, OS types, connection status, compliance score, and backup state.

## Authentication

- `Authorization` header (basic auth, required) — Basic authentication of the form `Basic <base64(username:password)>`.

This endpoint expects an object.

- `payload` (object, optional)
  - `search` (string, optional, default: ) — Free-text search across device name, IP address, OS type, group names, and plan names
  - `filters` (object, optional) — Filter criteria
    - `groupNames` (list of string, optional) — Filter by device group names
    - `planNames` (list of string, optional) — Filter by compliance plan names
    - `groupIds` (list of string, optional) — Filter by device group IDs
    - `planIds` (list of string, optional) — Filter by compliance plan IDs
    - `deviceOsTypes` (list of string, optional) — Filter by device OS types
    - `status` (list of string, optional) — Filter by connection status values
    - `complianceScore` (object, optional) — Numeric range filter for latest compliance score
      - `gt` (double, optional)
      - `gte` (double, optional)
      - `lt` (double, optional)
      - `lte` (double, optional)
      - `eq` (double, optional)
    - `hasBackup` (boolean, optional) — Filter devices that have or have not been backed up
    - `isStaleBackup` (boolean, optional) — Filter devices whose last backup is stale
    - `isAudited` (boolean, optional) — Filter devices that have or have not been compliance-audited
  - `sort` (object, optional) — Sort options
    - `field` (enum, optional, default: deviceName) — Field to sort by
      - Allowed values: `deviceName`, `ipAddress`, `deviceOsType`, `status`, `groupCount`, `planCount`, `lastComplianceScore`, `lastBackUpDuration`, `updatedAt`, `lastErrorAt`
    - `order` (enum, optional, default: asc)
      - Allowed values: `asc`, `desc`
  - `pagination` (object, optional) — Pagination options
    - `page` (integer, optional, default: 1) — Page number
    - `limit` (integer, optional, default: 25) — Number of results per page
